Trying to buy the house

Well as you all know, we have now been living with my parents for MANY years and the time isn't going quickly! We have all decided that something must be done but what?? We have talked about putting on an in-law suite and that is a possibility. The other option is that it may be time to buy the house and have my parents move on to a new smaller place... Scary thought for us. A few years ago $300,000 could buy you a new home around here. Now you are lucky if you can buy a townhome (our old townhouse now sells for $275,000!) My parents are working with us but of course they need to be able to take care of themselves also. We have been working with a mortgage lender who says it can be done but wow is it scary on one income with 4 (5) kids!! Cross your fingers for us!
