Saturday morning we were treated to a special event at the National Zoo. Called Cockadoodlezoo, the zoo is open only to members from 7:30-10:30 am. This give you a chance to "rise and shine with the animals". It was perfect weather, and we had a great time. I even got to see the Chimps walk across the wire, which I have NEVER seen in all my years of living here!! Dara got a little lesson about wolves from a zoo volunteer, and the other kids got to touch a lion pelt. One chimp decided it was a bit sunny and he should protect his head with a home made hat.
